Formed in 2007 by three members with diverse backgrounds, including five different nationalities, the Linos Piano Trio won the Grand Prize and Audience Award at the 2015 Melbourne International Chamber Music Competition. All of the pieces on this album are orchestral pieces arranged for piano trio. The three pieces are so powerful that it is hard to believe that they are played by three people, and they move the listener. In "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," in particular, the trio plays expressively as if a scene comes to life, creating music with a high degree of freedom of expression that only a small orchestra can provide.
